Lucknow court rejects Karan Johar’s plea

2LUCKNOW: Judicial magistrate Gyan Prakash on Tuesday rejected the plea of Bollywood Karan Johar, director of Hindi film ‘Khabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham’ to close a case against him in which it has been alleged that he insulted the National anthem in the said movie. The court observed that prima facie the allegations appeared to be correct.

It was pleaded on behalf of Johar that the movie was passed by the Censor Board of Film Certification which did not find anything insulting in the movie. A local resident Pratap Chandra filed an application in the court in which he had charged Johar insulted the National anthem in the movie which amounted to an offence.

CJM asks cops to conduct probe against DIG: Chief judicial magistrate (CJM) Sunil Kumar Yadav on Tuesday directed the Naka police to conduct an inquiry against Aligarh DIG Satyendra Veer Singh and other cops of Qwarsi police station, Aligarh, on the allegations that in collusion with a builder Radhey Lal, the applicant’s son Anup Kaushik was brought in police custody to Lucknow on September 9 and since then he has gone missing. The applicant Maya suspected that her son was murdered and his dead body had been disposed.

The court found that since the case of her son’s absconding from police custody had already been registered at Naka police station therefore it would be proper that the investigation be conducted by the same police station.
