The late Bollywood actor Rajesh Khanna’s live-in partner Anita Advani on Thursday alleged before the Bombay High Court that his family members had felt no concern for the actor till they were informed about his ‘sinking’ condition.
Advani, who has grievances against the late actor’s family including wife Dimple, daughters Twinkle and Rinke and actor son-in-law Akshay Kumar, is claiming her ‘legal rights’ in the form of monetary relief.
The HC, however, quashed the complaint against Rinke, based in Kolkata, on the ground that she had nothing to do with the issue.
Advani’s lawyer Mrunalini Deskhmukh argued that her client had taken care of Khanna when he was unwell. “She took care of him in the evening of life and when the news broke about his sinking health, all the love and affection started pouring from the family. They had no concern for him,” said Deshmukh.
Dekhmukh had alleged that her client was ousted from Khanna’s bungalow Aashirwad, by Akshay and Twinkle.
Senior lawyers Mahesh Jethmalani and Shirish Gupte appeared for Akshay, Dimple and Twinkle while Abaad Ponda appeared for Rinke. Their arguments revolved around contention that Advani had never cohabited with their clients and that her charge of domestic violence therefore did not hold substance.
“She (Advani) has to prove that she had stayed with my clients in a shared household otherwise it is trespass,” argued Gupte, who along with Jethmalani, sought quashing of Adavni’s complaint filed in a magistrate court.
The court will continue with the arguments of Dimple, Akshay and Twinkle on April 8.
