AMRITSAR: The National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) has written to Indian embassy in Abu Dhabi to furnish its report on the alleged incident of forced conversion in a prison there. Commission’s vice-chairman Raj Kumar Verka wrote to the embassy on Monday after meeting Balbir Singh, whose son Sukhwant Singh Bony, was being forced to embrace Islam and eat beef.
Balbir informed newspersons that his son was lodged in jail on false charges of murder of a Pakistani national hero who had died on November 30, 2011. He informed that his son had gone to Abu Dhabi to work in a shuttering company but was allegedly implicated in the false case of death. “My son’s phone details verified that he was out of station when Hero had scuffle with some persons,” he claimed.
Raj Kumar said he had sought detailed report from the Indian embassy in Abu Dhabi in a week’s time following which required action would be taken.
