DELHI: The Delhi HC has pulled up transport department for allowing Ola and other app-based cab services to ply despite the governemnet ban in the national capital.
The court on Tuesday asked deputy commissioner to take immediate action against such cabs.
The court also allowed Uber to withdraw its plea complaining of unilateral ban without being given a hearing.
It should be noted that all app-based cab services were banned in the capital following a Delhi government order dated December 8, 2014. The TOI had reported about the same.
The Uber lawyer had complained that the cab-company was banned in the city while other operators were plying on roads and working despite government ban on them too.
The lawyer had demanded proper hearing opportunity before transport department. The HC allowed them a hearing too.
